New York , Apr 15 (ANI): American singer Iggy Pop along with rocker Ke$ha and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have joined forces against the killing of Canadian seals.
The 63-year-old punk star protested the killing of Canadian baby harp seals for their fur, Usmagazine.com reported.
"Clubbing baby seals is sick and gives Canada a black eye," the New York Daily News quoted Pop as saying.
"Don't let the greed of a few tarnish the image of the whole country," the star added.
Kesha called the killing of the harp seals "barbaric and archaic" and said that her fans are part of a movement of young people who abhor the mistreatment of animals.
"I was lucky enough to get to watch a bunch of wild seals recently and truly fell in love with these amazing creatures," Kesha said in a statement. (ANI)
