Siliguri, Apr 9 (ANI): The West Bengal Left front committee chairman Biman Bose has expressed concern that some 'evil power' is making efforts to come to power and destroy the peace and tranquility the state.
While addressing the mediapersons in Siliguri, Bose said their party would fight elections in a methodical manner.
"During the elections or any political movement when some organizations carries out false claims and some factions of the media support it and highlights it, it becomes necessary to overcome it and portray to the people what is what in a very objective manner," said Bose.
"The left front is working in a very methodical and stringent manner to form the eighth left front government and not allow any evil power to come and destroy the peace and tranquillity of the state," he added.
He further supported the social activist Anna Hazare's crusade against corruption and demanded implementation of the Ombudsman Bill.
"By making certain amendments the Lok Pal bill must be brought in looking at the state of corruption that is going on currently," he said.
The Left Front, led by the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM), has been in power in the state for more than three decades.
Presently, it is facing a tough challenge from Trinamool Cngress and the Congress, who have stepped up pressure by raising simmering issues such as Maoist insurgency, corruption, and unemployment, ahead of the polls. (ANI)
