Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Mar.24 (ANI): Students of the Anjuman Islamia Madrasa in Gorakhpur have objected to the United Nations-mandated attack on Libya by allied forces, claiming the offensive is against humanity.
They urged the United States, Britain and France to stop the attacks immediately for the sake of peace in the region.
Naseerudin, a teacher said: "The attacks on Libya by Britain, France and America are not appropriate because human beings are suffering. Whether they are fighting for peace or violence, in both the cases, humanity is suffering."
The UN mandated offensive against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi was aimed at protecting civilians.
The UN Security Council resolution backing a no-fly zone, over Libya, led to airstrikes by the allied powers in which many people have been reported killed.
Russia, China, India and Brazil are among the five countries that have criticized the attacksand abstained for voting on the UN resolution. (ANI)
