Seoul, Mar.2 (ANI): US and South Korean officials will discuss North Korea's recently disclosed uranium enrichment programme.

The US adviser for non-proliferation and arms control department, Robert Einhorn, will meet Wi Sung-Lac, South Korea's chief envoy to the stalled six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear disarmament.inhorn with a team of US officials will continue discussion on a new civilian nuclear cooperation agreement between Seoul and Washington, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

A South Korean foreign ministry spokesman said: "During his visit here, North Korea's uranium enrichment programme and the issue of imposing sanctions against the North will also be discussed."

It said that it could give Pyongyang a new way to build nuclear weapons, in addition to its plutonium-based programme.outh Korea wants the UN Security Council to address the uranium programme before attempts one made to revive the six-party talks.

It has described the enrichment as a new violation of UN sanctions imposed following atomic tests in 2006 and 2009. (ANI)
