Shimla, Jan 30 (ANI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal has launched the much-awaited Heli Taxi services to cater to high-end tourists.

Talking to the media, Dhumal said: " Heli Taxi Service would not only boost adventure tourism in the state, but also facilitate the high-end tourists.

He said that due to invisibility of broad gauge railway lines and absence of regular air services, the Heli Taxi Service would attract foreign as well as domestic tourists, who are keen to visit hitherto unexplored and lesser-known destinations through 56 helipads.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the tourism department for launching this service and hopped that it would go a long way in attracting more foreign tourists

P.C. Thakur, Vice Chief of Simm-Samm Airways said this service would help tourists an access to distant and remote tourist spots in the state.

"This is going to be a very important aspect for the development of tourism, especially in Himachal Pradesh because the geographical condition in this state is not so good and we have to spend a lot of time moving on the roads. So, the Himachal government has taken a very right step," said Thakur.

The visitors travelling through the Heli Taxi service were enthusiastic about the adventure trail.

"It will be very exciting. I think, Heli Taxi will be very beneficial for the tourists as well as the locals. People who go to Switzerland or Italy will now enjoy the beauty of Himachal," said Rajesh Bhandhari.

The Heli Taxi services began for four places, Shimla to Kullu Manali, Dharamsala, Reckong Peo and Chandigarh. (ANI)
