Job Search in the Age of AI

New Delhi, Sun, 06 Sep 2020 Deepak Kumar

The use of Artificial Intelligence by different job portals improved the results, which is helping both companies and the professionals looking for new jobs. Artificial Intelligence reduced the time of resume screening by removing the old manual process.

Previously job search was based on various parameters, such as experience, required skills, job location etc. Results of those searches were not poor, but it was nothing more than satisfactory. All job portals have worked their way ahead with incorporating new technologies and better functioning algorithms. In the beginning, the hiring process used to be too long and often not that effective. Multiple organizations tried to make their employment program more competitive, so that they can only recruit suitable professionals. But making the employment process more competitive, does not make it more effective. Also, better jobs made the recruitment process too lengthy, due to the huge number of people who would be applying for it. With new hiring methods coming around, the main focus of most organizations was to reduce the time spent to go through prospective profiles and resumes.

After Artificial Intelligence was used as a significant part of job search via different job portals, the results were much improved. Artificial Intelligence reduced the time of resume screening by removing the old manual process. Storing such a huge amount of data from uncountable applicants used to take a lot of time and the chances of making a human error was also very high. Artificial Intelligence got rid of all these problems, as storing and managing data is one of its key features. With the requirements getting more and more specific, AI created various models to find ideal matches for those requirements.

The amount of money that gets invested in the process of recruitment is quite big, and hence the employers want to hire professionals for a long term. Chat processes are also powered by Artificial Intelligence to provide quick and immediate response. Except a few unconventional requirements, these chats offer solutions to every other issue. This makes it easier for the organizations to avoid similar queries over a period of time, and a lot of unnecessary effort can be cut short.

In the previous mode of hiring, there were numerous cases where a candidate received illegal help or backup from someone working in the organization. This cannot happen in the new format with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence, so more transparency and fair competition can be expected.

AI can also be used to look for the better performing employees, so potential growth and further promotions can be decided after seeing the results. Job candidates need to make adjustments in their resume to stand out and match for the specific requirements. Automated interviews driven by AI are also replacing conventional face to face interviews. There are many ways to make your resume stand out, so that your first impression to the company generates positive feedback. The choice of words in your resume and specific keywords are very important in terms of securing the perfect job. AI highlights necessary parts of your online resume to the company, much of the bulk unnecessary information gets sidelined in the process, so that accurate placements can be done smoothly. AI has made it easier for both the recruiter and the candidate to have a better job searching experience.
