Android Nougat came out with its final version on August 22, 2016 and ever since then, we only have been hearing about this new rage.
As is reported, Google Nexus is the pioneering device to get this updated OS. It's easily available on Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player and Google Pixel C. But if your device hasn't received the new update as of yet, you can still go ahead and download the new version.
Google has made the installing on Nexus device very easy and less fussy. This is mainly the preview version and once your device is upgraded, you may need to make some minor changes.
So, you can get started with your experience of using the Android N, with Developer Preview 4.
Let's find out how you can go about getting Android N now.
Downloading the all new Android N
As we said in the beginning, downloading Android N has been made very simple with Google's new Android Beta Program. A device that's enrolled to the programme will get OTA updates to the most up-to-date Android operating systems where available.
Enrolling Process
In general, the update notification takes nearly 24 hours to come. However, if you don't receive the update even after that, check your internet connection and head to Settings, then go to About, then System updates and check for updates. You are not to receive the OTA updates if you earlier had manually flashed Android Marshmallow on to that device. The notification will read as verification failed. You will now have to manually install the Android N on your device.
As you do this, it will take you to a new window. On this new window, you'll see the message that it will install the new version of Android N preview on your device, which will have the new features such as multi-window support and direct-reply to notifications.
Enjoy your stint with the preview version, but do wait for the final update to come. You will receive that soon on your device!
