Facebook will tie up with RailTel to provide free Wi-Fi services at railway stations and near by villages in India. Google is already providing free Wi-Fi services at Railway stations and it is expected to cover 400 railway stations by 2017.
It is likely that Facebook will also tie up with RailTel to provide Wi-Fi services at railway stations and nearby villages.
It is also noted that RailTel itself is an internet service provider and it has setup over 45,000 kms of optic fiber network covering railways stations in India.
This fiber optics network connects many cities and stations in the country.
After Facebook's Wi-Fi service launch people will find more hotspots to connect to Internet.
Mumbai central railways station was the first railway station in India to get free Wi-Fi facility. Later on this service was extended and free Wi-Fi facility was installed in 10 more railway stations.
