Earlier it was reported that OnePlus 3 would release on May 18 but there was no sign of it. But the hype around the same is still on and if go by the latest reports the successor to OnePlus 2 will see the day light sometime by May end or in the beginning of June 2016.
It is to note that when OnePlus One was introduced – it had started a cataclysm being a device with near-flagship mechanism and amazing look at comparatively lower price. Though OnePlus 2 had failed to live up to the expectations, OnePlus 3 is supposed to make up for it.
OnePlus 3: An Overview
OnePlus 3 will surely be a capable contender in the race and compete with biggies like Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and HTC 10.
The device is supposed to have a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM as well as 32GB internal storage. So here we can clearly see that the smartphone has improved on storage and RAM part. Moreover, it will have a 5.5in, 1080p screen complemented by a 16-megapixel back camera and 8MP front snapper.
OnePlus 3 is to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow – which is what the speculations promise so far. But what it actually works on can only be seen once the handset is out for usage. Till then we can only wish for the same to be true.
The Design
It has a decent look but not exceptionally well. Earlier we had seen a picture of proposed OnePlus 3 model with a slim built that was quite appealing than OnePlus 2. But, it lacks one very important OnePlus 2 feature that is the fingerprint-sensor placed at home button. It’s still not clear whether or not the device has a fingerprint sensor.
If this stand true then it would rather be a surprising move from OnePlus as now fingerprint sensors have turned to be a common feature with top smartphones. This would also mean that the company will have to cut down the price which may not work in their favor.
It’s also stated that OnePlus 3 might have iris recognition, like the one uses on Microsoft Lumia 950. This feature will surely give it a show up amid other Android phones.
Well, it won’t tale much time to find out what exactly OnePlus 3 will be like. Company plans to uncover it by end of this year’s second quarter. We can assume that the phone would be available by July.
Earlier it was heard that they plan to release it on 18 May and roll out the full-fledged sale from June. Talking about the price, OnePlus 3 will most likely be available at 1,999 yuan, which is about Rs. 21,000.
OnePlus states that they would stick to conventional marketing for their new device and would make it a point to encourage an enhanced buying process. If this is true then we can expect that there won’t be any reservation system – which somehow has become a norm these days with most smartphones.
Considering OnePlus original startup with OnePlus One – we certainly have high hopes with the new smartphone and we truly hope that it lives up to the expectations.
Till then, stay tuned to know every minute detail about OnePlus 3!
