The SDMC has decided to intensify its efforts in the direction of prevention and control of Dengue and Malaria in all the localities coming under its jurisdiction. The Commissioner Dr. PK GOEL in a high level meeting exhorted the Public Health Department to fully gear up to meet any eventuality. He asked the department to make proper use of men, machines and material procured to prevent outbreak of these to diseases Dr. Goel instructed the DBC ensure the checking in respect of mosquitoes breeding at every house.
Wherever the breeding is noticed on the spot challan should be issued. The Commissioner asked the department to invite a number of specialist and experts on the subject in an awareness workshop being organized for the benefit of the RWA’s representatives and Councillors on Tuesday. The specialist and experts would be able to provide useful tips on the subject. Dr. Goel stated that the SDMC is taking all possible staps to control the outbreak of the diseases.
The Commissioner was given a detailed information on the breeding of mosquitoes and related issues during the meeting. During the year the DBC’s visited around 4.82 Lacs houses and found breeding in 5284 houses. Further 4861 legal notices were issued whereas 200 prosecutions were launched. The department collected 10,100 samples for Malaria. The Commissioner also exhorted all employees to remain alert.
