Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi is on a roll with the company launching many mid range devices in the market. It's getting good response in the Indian market given the fact that Xiaomi is coming up with budget phones which boast of high-end features like that of the elite devices.
Adding another feather in its cap, Xiaomi recently announced its MIUI custom interface for Android. Reports state that beta testing for Xiaomi's MIUI 8 would initially start on June 1 in China. Later the developer ROM would be launched on June 17 which would be followed by its global release.
This new interface is said to support Mi 2/2S/3/4/4c/4S/5/Max, along with Redmi, Redmi Note series plus Mi Note series.
Aren't you curious to know what MIUI has in store for you? Let's check out its potential features and the changes it brings along.
App Cloning
So far this is touted to be MIUI 8's biggest feature as it will allow users to clone any app installed on the phone – which will apparently give you two same apps. You can run two instances of similar app and even use each instance to log into your different accounts.
Added Security
Reports state that MIUI 8 would be capable of detecting text messages with probable phishing or scam danger. It will highlight such messages which clearly mean you'll not have to worry about any security issues. The new interface will have an extra third layer which aids in spam filtering and blocking spam call. It can detect when the SMS has malevolent content like web links, and in turn would warn you against checking them. So this would come handy if you always end up opening links without really looking for the security.
Visual Changes
With MIUI 8, Xiaomi has brought in innovative font - Mi Lanting. This as per Xiaomi would perk up the readability of written words. For now this feature will only be available for the Chinese users. However, this feature is currently only for its China users. For its global variants, MIUI will have other attractive features like theme colors, icon designs, material design visuals and wallpaper carousel.
More Power
Xiaomi is said to have incorporated some additional power saving features to its MIUI 8, which will consist of freezing apps which you run in background, along with blocking apps which start on their own. Apparently, this feature will call for your smartphone's smoother performance and would even increase the battery life.
Full Scanning
It will come with an upgraded scanner app and this app would certainly offer many utilities. It will put together barcode scanning, inclusive of instantaneous messengers and the payment apps. In China, apps like WeChat and AliPay are working amazingly with the Xiaomi new MIUI8. And we are looking to see in India which app would work fine with the same.
Refreshed Apps
MIUI 8 will sport a completely novel Gallery app with the additional feature of editing. With this new add on feature, you can add a scribble to any of your photo or add filters too. In case you want to edit any of your video, the MIUI 8 will let you add filters, trim timeline plus add a soundtrack as well. The all new MIUI8 has even made sharing simply uncomplicated. So if you want to share any data with more than one person, MIUI8 will let it take place smoothly.
Then it has the calculator which will not only solve the number problems for you but would even have features like currency conversions and temperature. Also, Notes app will be locked with secret code or fingerprint scan.
Let's wait for its India release so that we can get to know how well it would perform here!
