If you're fond of the Apple devices, you will always be limited to one of two iPhones, but as an Android user, you'll enjoy plenty of options to choose from the elite smartphone range that boasts of Samsung Galaxy S7, Sony's Xperia Z5 range and the latest in the line - HTC 10.
HTC 10 being the newest entrant on the chart of top-tier smartphones, let's find out what this device actually stacks up for you.
The Design
To being with, HTC 10 nowhere looks like any of its previously released models. It has taken inspiration from HTC's top smartphone till date, the original One (M7). The new device focuses on getting the basics right and getting away with the needless features. Though boasting a metal body, it still stands out in the crowd. The HTC 10 comes with a beveled edge which makes it easy to hold.
Both HTC 10 and Samsung Galaxy S7 appear to be striking smartphones with almost similar designs. However, the Samsung edges leads with admirable IP68 waterproofing. HTC scores more in the software section.
Display and Interface
It has a 5.2-inch quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 resolutions, which has proved to be an important improvement on the earlier M9's 1080p. The display is sharp and clear with the protective layer of Gorilla Glass 4. HTC 10's display has 564 pixels-per-inch (ppi), as compared to the LG G5's 554, Samsung's Galaxy S7's 534 and iPhone 6s Plus' 401.
Performance and Battery life
The device as per company claim can stay for two days with single charge using its Quick Charge. Though the battery life is good but when using the phone for watching videos, it does drain away.
Storage & Connectivity
It has a storage capacity of 32GB which is expandable through a Micro-SD card slot – it takes up to 2TB capacity cards. HTC 10 also supports Android's Adoptable Storage with the help of which the memory card can be viewed like internal storage.
Camera
Earlier, the devices from HTC were criticized in the past for bad quality of camera. HTC 10 has tried to improve this area with its rear-facing 12MP lens.
The Fingerprint Sensor
This has come t be the primary addition and works quite faster – it takes only 0.2 seconds. With HTC 10, you can add nearly five fingerprints and can set app locks through Boost+app.
Verdict
The HTC 10 is compared with its predecessor model and that of its current competition. When comapred against the M9, HTC 10 is better in every single aspect - it has a better display, battery life, camera, performance and appearance.
If you've used the M9, HTC 10 would surely impress you a lot. But if you're a fan of Samsung, then this device might showcase some flaws. We certainly can't pitch it with the higher models produced by Samsung, and Sony alike. But from HTC's front, this new device is indeed a flawless thing and the best phone from the company till date!
