Vasundhara Mantri opened Day Three at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 with her strong geometric accessory collection.
Mumbai, 28 August, 2015: “Blurred Lines” is what Vasundhara Mantri called her collection at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 that dazzled the audience with its unconventional glitter. Using the theme, Vasundhara brought in jewellery, which was a dramatic blend of strong, bold, geometric, asymmetric lines that worked well with traditional Indian sensibilities. There was a large dose of contemporary styling that came together seamlessly with Indian craftsmanship.
The jagged triangles were linked together with a floral pendant, while the abstract neckpiece with random jewelled circles highlighting them created a unique entry. Geometric gold shoulder harnesses, matching haath phools, a mix of necklace and armlet in spheres and the neck-cum-belt and ring proved that jewellery could be mind-blowing in design as well as concept. Interlinked triangles formed a cape and hand decor; while a draped necklace ended as an armlet. The one-shoulder draped creation and the jagged crown, necklace-cum-body harness were conversation stoppers.
Stopping the show was Bollywood actress Evelyn Sharma with a triangular motif necklace, dappled with floral motifs and a hair ornament.
Jewellery that can stop the traffic, conversation or heart, has to be from Vasundhara Mantri's “Blurred Lines” collection, which women will covet during the coming season.
