Bangalore, June 21, 2015: Greenwood High today joined rest of the world and rolled out their yoga mats in celebrating the International Yoga Day with full enthusiasm at its campus at Varthur Sarjapur Road. Since this day also happened to be Fathers Day, all the fathers were also invited along with their children to take part in celebrating both the occasions. More than 100 fathers joined the celebrations.
The 3 best father and child pair performing the Asanas were also awarded from the school. The winners were Nikita Sri & Mr. Shrinivas Rao (1st), Tanvi Devarakonda & Kiran Devarakonda (2nd), Arav Bansal & Kulesh Bansal (3rd).
“I was so reluctant to get out of my bed today morning but I am glad my daughter forced me to! This so far has been the best father’s day for me. It's a wonderful initiative taken by Greenwood High”, said Mr. Shrinivas Rao, first prize winner.
“We have been following the practice of Yoga in our school curriculum from past few years and give it the same importance like any other subject. We wanted to leverage this day to take the benefits of yoga to all students again & salute the vastness of yoga. We also wish to thank all fathers in extending their full cooperation in making the celebrations a grand success”, said Ms. Niru Agarwal, Trustee, Greenwood High.
