On the occasion of the Mahavir Jayanti PM Narendra Modi posted a message on his Twitter account remembering the message of Lord Mahavir.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has recalled the message of Lord Mahavir, on occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
"On Mahavir Jayanti I bow to the venerable Lord Mahavir, who showed the path of peace and welfare for entire humanity", the Prime Minister said.
Mahavir Jayanti is the birth anniversary of 24th and last Jain Tirthankar Bhagwan Mahavir and today on 02 April is being celebrated this year across the country.
The Mahavir Jayanti is celebrated on the 13th day of the waxing (rising) half of Caitra as per the Hindu Calendar.
The Mahavir Jayanti is a festival of fasting and prayer to mark the Jayanti (birth day) and it is celebrated around the India.
