New Delhi, Tue, 03 Mar 2015 NI Wire

Google is the top search engine of the world and due to its quality of the search results users are visiting to find the information on the Internet. Google search team is always trying to provide the great results from the Internet to the users.

The past there were many updates and the release of the search engines updates for making the search results betters. This time Google search team is planning to introduces the mechanism to rank the websites in the search result based on the factual accuracy rather than the count of the links (back links).

This plan will prevent the websites containing the misinformation from appearing and ranking in the search engine results.

Currently Google is using the links quality and quantity to determine the importance of the website and accordingly it is ranking in the search results. After the introduction of the new planned technology only websites having good and meaningful content will appear well in the search engine results.

The disadvantage of ranking the website on the links is that if large number of people links to the website then the website will start ranking in the website.

Once Google starts measuring the website quality based on the facts the trustworthiness of the website will play important role in getting ranked in the search engine results.

The Google research team is adapting the model to rank the websites based on the facts and the system will start counting the incorrect facts within the web pages of the websites.

Search engine will calculate the Knowledge-Based Trust score for the web page.

Now this system of ranking the web page on the accuracy of the web page will boost the good websites in the search results.

The new system is based on the algorithm developed by the Google research team which uses the facts to calculate the ranking of the websites.

In this system the web pages are given Knowledge Trust score, which based on the various facts such as quality and the accuracy of the information on the web page.

If the web page contains more inaccurate information on the page, it rank low in the search result index. So, the accuracy of the information on the web page is will play important role in the ranking of the web pages.

The researches suggest that the Google is going to change the way of search engine ranking and search engine results.

The current system of the search engine ranking is using a complex combination of the key words and links from other websites to determine the search engine ranking. But this complex algorithm also failed to remove the inaccurate web pages from the search results.

The new algorithm is based on the facts and it is now trying to remove the inaccurate web pages from the search results.

Current search suggests:

  • The allocated trustworthiness scores to be allocated to the web pages
  • Pages will rank based on the trustworthiness scores
  • The trustworthiness scores will calculated based on the facts
  • Search engine will find in accurate information on the web page and allocate the trustworthiness scores
  • More the in correct information on the web page, the web page will rank low in search engine results

Research says "We proposed a sophisticated probabilistic model that jointly estimates the correctness of extractions and source data, and the trustworthiness of sources."

The research was done on the 2.8 billion pages on the Internet and the system reliably predicted the trustworthiness of 119 million pages and 5.6 million websites.

The researchers said: 'In other words, they are considered less trustworthy than half of the websites.'

According to the new search the trustworthy website will rank high in the search results and the trustworthiness will be based on the facts of web page.
