Dilli Haat INA has been redefined to meet the essentials of an ever-growing popularity. Some of these changes have been made to facilitate fluid movements, provide appropriate hygiene and offer enhanced security. A new toilet block with high standards of sanitation and hygiene has recently been constructed keeping in line with the growing demand for such facilities.
This also corresponds to the latest Swachch Bharat Abhiyan initiative that successfully lifted the masses towards cause of cleanliness. Sh. Jitender Singh Singh Tomar Minister of Law Justice, Home, Tourism and Art & Culture, Govt. of Delhi alongwith Smt. Alka Lamba, Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Tourism, Govt. of Delhi, inaugurated the newly built toilet block, a new exhibition hall at Dilli Haat INA and a new ticket counter at the rear side of the complex.
Spread over an area of 6.27 acres, Dilli Haat INA presents a picturesque traditional village atmosphere in contrast to the capital city of Delhi. Built on the storm water drain, it is one of the first ever bazaars promoting food, crafts, culture and talent. The place is like an everyday carnival where people come from all walks of life making it an epitome of unity in diversity. Dilli Haat is a barrier free, eco-friendly and differently-abled friendly complex.
Dilli Haat INA has won the prestigious PATA Gold Award in the year 1993 and the award for Barrier Free Project in 2005. The haat is popular among the locals, tourists and delegates from across the globe. Dilli Haat has been visited by many esteemed foreign dignitaries like Prince Charles in 2003 and Ms. Hillary Clinton in 2011. A number of foreign delegations choose Dilli Haat to get a taste of India with the French delegation and International delegation from SEBI being the recent ones. Dilli Haat has also travelled its way for exposition to London & Berlin.
