The much belated realisation about higher electricity tariffs finally by the Congress party is a clear evidence of this party's confession that it betrayed the people of Delhi during its 15 year misrule, following which it was comprehensively rejected.
The Congress manifesto is a statement of self-indictment about its deception with the people of Delhi for 15 years, who suffered under its rule due to exorbitantly high electricity tariffs.
Though the Congress has realised a bit too late about its misdeeds when it is no longer relevant in Delhi's political scenario, but it now clear that the agenda set by the Aam Aadmi Party has rattled all political parties.
Not only the Congress, but the BJP is also being forced to talk about the electricity tariffs now.
BJP advertisements in newspapers are now promising reduction in electricity tariffs by 50%. What prevented the BJP from doing so when its central government presented the Delhi budget in parliament in July last year ?When the BJP had a chance to reduce the high electricity tariffs it deceived the people of Delhi then why is it shedding crocodile tears now ?
The sequence of events now makes it clear that the agenda on electricity tariffs set by the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi will be a deciding factor in the assembly elections.
The BJP which mocked the AAP government’s decision on reduction in electricity tariffs is now running for cover and on the other hand, the Congress has conceded that it was wrong in arrogantly rejecting the justified demand of the people of Delhi.
