Second winner of $636mln jackpot revealed as California man

New York, Jan 4 (ANI): The second winner of the 636-million-dollar Mega Millions jackpot has finally been revealed.

Steve Tran of Northern California was one of two lucky winners in last month's 636-million-dollar jackpot drawing - the second-largest prize in US history, the New York Daily News reported.

Tran bought his winning ticket - numbers 8, 14, 17, 20, 39 with a Mega number of 7 - in San Jose, state Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso told the Los Angeles Times.

The other winner, Ira Curry of Georgia, has already opted to take a lump sum payment, which amounts to about 120 million dollars after taxes.

The gift shop in San Jose that sold Tran his golden ticket will get a 1-million-dollar prize as well.

The California winner waited 16 days after lottery officials announced the magic numbers to come forward and claim his prize. (ANI)
