World Asthma Day is being observed across the world on 7 May 2013 as it is observed every year on the first Tuesday of May.
The World Asthma Day is being observed across the World to spread awareness of the disease and to eradicate myth and to acknowledge the people about "How to cure and care?"
The theme of World Asthma Day - 2013 continues to be that of previous year "You Can Control Your Asthma" but this year a sub-theme has also been introduced by Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), the NGO works and sponsor for Asthma with the collaboration of World Health Organisation (WHO).
The sub-theme for the year "It's Time to Control Asthma".
The day is organized and sponsored by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) as a partnership between health care groups and asthma educators to raise awareness about asthma.
According to WHO and GINA, there are 235-300 million people are suffering from Asthma and of them 2.50 lakh die every year.
Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease of airways of respiratory system which swells due to various reasons like cold, cough, cold environment, smoke, dusts, pollens, and other factors that triggers bronchial allergies.
The World Asthma Day for the first time was organised in 1998 and was celebrated across 35 counties.
