Yoga effective in reducing Hypertension

Now disease like "Hypertension" commonly known as "High Blood Pressure" can be lowered by practicing "Yoga". These therapies are beneficial in people with mild to moderate hypertension.

Sedentary lifestyles, lack of exercise and Physical activity are considered the main reason for developing high blood pressure.

According to an annual study made by the American Society of Hypertension showed that with regular practice of Yoga is among the best alternative method to maintain the Blood Pressure in people.

A study presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hypertension shows that practicing yoga could help decrease blood pressure in people with mild to moderate hypertension, the Huffington Post reported.

"Hypertension" is also known as silent killer as it has no specific symptoms but if symptoms like regular headache, blurr vision, ringing in the ears persists than a patient can consult a doctor.

On an average it is estimated that Hypertension affects approximately one billion people worldwide.

Various lifestyle adjustments are also recommended for patients suffering from Hypertension which also includes yoga that has various physical postures and poses that are quite effective in reducing the effects of Hypertension. Some of the beneficial yoga poses for the same are:

  • Easy Pose (Sukhasana)
  • Stand Spread Leg Forward Fold
  • Shoulder Stretches
  • Cat Pose (Bidalasana)
  • Half Spinal Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana)
  • Double Leg Raises

These yoga poses helps improves the patient’s concentration, mood swings, their memory are also enhanced and the body also gets relaxed.
