The Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) has passed 13 power projects, which involves a total investment worth Rs.33,000 crore rupees.
These 13 projects include 10 transmission, one hydro and two thermal projects.
The decision to clear the projects was taken at a meeting led by the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh in the capital on Monday evening.
The CCI also reviewed 20 other power sector to which clearances are pending mostly with Environment and Forests Ministry.
An official release from the committee said, the Expert Advisory Committee has already recommended one project for approval the Environment and Forests Ministry.
Moreover, the CCI also approved 25 oil and gas blocks with investment commitments of about seven billion dollars.
While, 16 blocks have been given conditional clearance, nine blocks were approved unconditionally.
These projects were stuck over national security issues raised by the Ministry of Defence.
