BJP, Left leaders shared dais against FDI in retail at Ramleela ground

BJP national president Rajnath Singh has said that if NDA will come in power in the next general election, it will be cancel the decision of FDI in retail. He was addressing a mega rally organized at Ramleela Ground by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) today.

Senior Leaders of different political parties including Leader of Opposition in in Rajya Sabha. Arun Jaitley, Chairman of Public Accounts Committee of Parliament Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, NDA Convener and Janta Dal (U) President Sharad Yadav, Senior CPI Leader A. B. Bardhan, Leader of CPM in Loksabha Basudev Acharya and other attended the rally.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said that government has been saying that the move is in favour of country but the fact is that it will damage the fate of traders in the country.

Chairman of Public Accounts Committee of Parliament Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi said in his address that government was initially opposed the move but what happened later that it given green signal to the FDI in retail. He said that FDI should be welcome in various fields where technology is important but it can’t be allowed in FDI.

Praveen Khandelwal, General Secretary of CAIT said that the advantages propogated by the Government in favour of FDI in Retail are based on wrong and baseless facts and figures and not taking into consideration of the living examples of the Countries whose economy has been distorted by FDI in Retail including USA.

Not only the traders but farmers, hawkers, transporters, labourers,consumers, self employed groups, cooperative sector, small scale industry, APMC markets and retail intellectuals were present at the rally.
