Sonia Gandhi
Sonia Gandhi is an Italian-born Indian politician and widow of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, who has served as President of the Indian National Congress party since 1998 and ranks 6th on Forbes' list of 100 Most Powerful Women ahead of the U.S. First Lady, Michelle Obama. Sonia is also the Chairperson of the current ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in the Lok Sabha since 2004. She has been elected as the president of Indian National Congress party for four times in row and became the longest serving President in the history of the Congress party.
Indra Nooyi
Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi is an Indian-American business executive and currently serving as a Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo. Nooyi has consistently maintained her position among the Forbes' list of 100 Most Powerful Women and among the 5 Most Powerful women in India. Nooyi was elected Chairwoman of the US-India Business Council (USIBC) in 2008. In addition to that, she was announced as one of America's Best Leaders by U.S. News & World Report in 2008 and among "The TopGun CEOs" by Brendan Wood International, an advisory agency.
Padmasree Warrior
Ranked 58th in the list of 100 World's Most Powerful Women, Padmasree Warrior is the current Chief Technology and Strategy Officer (CTO) of Cisco Systems. Earlier, she also served as the CTO of Motorola. Motorola was awarded with the National Medal of Technology by the President of the United States, George W Bush in 2005 under her tenure of work. Chanda Kochhar
Chanda Kochhar is the current Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Bank and ranked 59th in the list of 100 World's Most Powerful Women. In addition to that, Kochhar also heads the Corporate Centre of ICICI Bank, India's largest private bank. ICICI got remarkable achievement by winning "Best Retail Bank in India" award in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005 respectively under the leadership of Kochhar. Morever, the bank also received the honor of "Excellence in Retail Banking Award" in 2002. Asian Banker awarded Kochhar with "Retail Banker of the Year 2004 (Asia-Pacific region)" for her outstanding contributions in banking sector. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is the Chairman & Managing Director of Biocon Limited a biotechnology company, which was started by her in 1978 as an industrial enzymes manufacturing company. Shaw was awarded with Padma Shri Award in 1989 and the Padma Bhushan in 2005 from the government of India for her pioneer work in the field of biotechnology.
