Islamabad, Oct. 4 (ANI): Major world powers should accept the phenomenal rise of China in a peaceful manner, Regional Peace Institute (RPI) Chairperson and former foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri has said.
Kasuri cautioned against the dangers of not doing so, noting that the world had to face two world wars because of the failure of the then major world powers to accommodate the rise of Germany and Japan.
According to the Daily Times, on Afghanistan, Kasuri stressed the need for a dialogue between the Afghan government, Taliban and the United States to prevent another civil war following US troops' withdrawal in 2014.
The conference was hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) and delegates from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Maldives attended.(ANI)
