Murray 'unaffected' by spectator trouble at US Open

Wellington , Sat, 31 Aug 2013 ANI

Wellington, Aug 31 (ANI): Defending US Open Champion Andy Murray has said that it is important to enjoy the noise at the US Open as it was a lot different at the Flushing Meadows than courts at Wimbledon.

According to stuff.co.nz, spectators were late to their seats and called out between points on a court that has been home to numerous close struggles for Murray in recent years, during Murray's match against Leonardo Mayer.

Mayer's aggression paid dividends in the third set before Murray knuckled down in a blistering fourth set to close out the win in two hours and 41 minutes, the report said.

However, the Wimbledon Champion also said that he was happy to play on any court and it did not make a huge difference.

Frenetic crowd activity is a hallmark of the US Open, the report added. (ANI)
