Sydney, Apr 19 (ANI): Condom snorting is the latest craze to hit US and Britain.
Medical experts have condemned the latest viral video craze as "remarkably stupid".
A growing number of videos titled "The Condom Challenge" have been uploaded to YouTube in recent months and feature disturbing footage of teenagers snorting condoms up their nostrils and pulling them out through their mouths, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The latest and most widely viewed clip features a young girl performing the stunt to the soundtrack of Taylor Swift's song 22.
The video has been removed from YouTube but many more have now been uploaded, including one of a mother in the US showing her disapproval of the extreme exploit.
Her horrified reaction has received more than 600,000 views since Monday.
Doctors around the world have warned against the dangerous and embarrassing consequences of "The Condom Challenge".
Leading Australian physician and health industry consultant Dr Joe Kosterich said, "although it is highly unlikely to be fatal it could trigger a coughing fit in some. The nasal linings could get irritated but this would be annoying rather than serious."
While some doctors in Britain and US have expressed concern that the prophylactic could become lodged in the airways or lungs, Dr Kosterich said the chances of inhaling a condom into the lungs is minimal however if performed when intoxicated the "challenge" could be fatal. (ANI)
