New Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) An executive committee on climate change will be constituted to assist the prime minister's council on climate change, an official statement from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Office said here Thursday.
The committee will assist the prime minister's council on climate change in evolving a coordinated response to issues relating to climate change at the national level.
The committee would regularly monitor the implementation of the eight national missions and other initiatives on climate change and co-ordinate with various agencies on issues relating to climate change.
The chairman of the executive committee on climate change will be the principal secretary to the prime minister and secretary, ministry of environment and forests will be the member-convenor.
