Recurrence of a bladder infection, Prince Philip admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip has been again admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after having the news of recurrence of a bladder infection.

He is the husband of Queen Elizabeth II

He previously had the same problem before the Diamond Jubilee concert on 4 June and he spent five nights in hospital.

Philip was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Wednesday evening.

Buckingham palace said, "The Duke of Edinburgh has had a recurrence of the bladder infection that he had in the summer and has been admitted to hospital for investigation and treatment. His Royal Highness is likely to remain there for the next few days."

In December, the Duke underwent an operation to clear a blocked coronary artery.

Prince Philip (91) had been staying at Balmoral with the Queen.
