In the 13th match of IPL 5 played yesterday in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Super Kings sealed a thrilling 5-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore. This is the CSK's first win in this year IPL after their two previous losses.
After winning the toss and deciding to bat first RCB amassed a huge total of 205 runs with the help of blistering performances made by Chris Gayle (68 runs), Virat Kohli (57 runs) and Mayank Agarwal (45 runs). Doug Bollinger took 3 wickets from the CSK side.
Victory was looking inevitable for RCB with an immense score on their side. CSK had an asking rate of 10.25 to achieve it. Du Plessis who made 71 runs in 46 balls made sure that CSK remain in the right track. Later Dhoni added 41 runs and helped closing the gap further. At the end of the 18th over CSK and win was 43 runs apart, Kohli was given the penultimate over and Albie Morkel tear him down striking 3 sixes and 2 fours. Virat gave away 28 runs and CSK required 15 runs in the last over. With Morkel departing in second ball it was Bravo who hit the six and Jadeja who hit the last ball for a four helping CSK achieve the unachievable.
CSK made 208 runs in 20 over with 5 wickets remaining, Muralitharan took 3 wickets from the RCB side.
