Former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn has reportedly been reached a preliminary agreement to settle a civil lawsuit brought against him by Nafissatou Diallo, a hotel maid who accused him of sexual assault last year.
However, his US and France-based lawyers said that the deal was under discussion and it has not yet been finalized
Diallo sued Strauss-Kahn in New York civil court accusing him of sexually assaulting her. He pleaded not guilty and said any sexual contact with the hotel maid had been consensual. He also called the lawsuit defamatory and counter sued Diallo for $1 million.
63-year-old Strauss-Kahn's lawyers William Taylor III and Amit Mehta have repeatedly said they would not settle out of court while Diallo's lawyers have insisted that their client is only interested in facing her "attacker" in court.
