Civil Aviation Ministry has announced that all Air India (AI) employees will get there pending salaries of the month September and October before Diwali i.e. November 13.
The Productivity-Linked Incentive (PLI) for two months will be given to them by month-end.
Civil Aviation Ministry said in a statement, "Air India has decided to clear payment of salaries to all its employees (including crew members and engineers) for the months of September and October 2012 before Diwali. It will also make up-to-date payment of PLI for all licensed category employees for May and June".
To make the required payment AI would come up with Rs. 230 crore for salaries, Rs. 200 crore for PLI of licensed category and Rs. 60 crore for PLI of non-licensed employees.
Licensed category includes the crew members and engineers.
This decision came after Ajit Singh, Civil Aviation Minister demanded Air India to make all efforts to make payment of salary to the employees up to date.
