New Delhi, Nov 2 (ANI): Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today condoled the tragic and untimely demise of senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and former Union Minister K. Yerran Naidu.
In his condolence message, Ansari said: "I am deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely demise of my friend, K. Yerran Naidu, former MP and ex-Union Minister for Rural Development.
"Naidu had a long and illustrious political career as a Member of Parliament, Member of Legislative Assembly and Union Minister. In his passing away, the people of India, particularly of Andhra Pradesh, have lost a dedicated public servant who was deeply committed to their cause," he added.
Ansari further said: "I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Telegu Desam Party and the people of Andhra Pradesh on their loss. I pray to the Almighty to grant them strength and fortitude to bear this loss."
Naidu died in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district this morning. He was 55.
The car in which Naidu was travelling collided with a lorry around 2 a.m. near Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district.
e was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. (ANI)
