Petrol Price cut by 56 paise per litre in Metro cities

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has cut the price of petrol by 56 paise per litre in Metro cities.

IOC in a statement said, "It has been decided to revise the petrol prices downward by Rs 0.56 per litre (excluding state levies in Delhi) with effect from October 9".

Revised petrol prices are:

  • Delhi: Petrol price is now Rs 67.90 per litre from Rs. 68.46 per litre
  • Kolkata: Petrol price is now Rs 75.44 per litre from Rs. 76.14 per litre
  • Mumbai: Petrol price is now Rs 74.43 per litre from Rs 75.14 per litre
  • Chennai: Petrol price is now Rs 71.48 per litre from Rs 72.19 per litre

On June 3 2012 petrol rates were reduced by Rs 2.02 per litre. This reduction in petrol prices has come after 3 months. On July 24 2012 petrol prices were raised by 70 paise.

Just 1 month before government hiked the prices of diesel by Rs 5 per litre.
