The striking employees of debt ridden Kingfisher Airlines on Thursday agreed to a wage negotiation with the management of the cash-strapped carrier and finally called off the ongoing 25-day-long strike.
"We have reached an agreement with the management on the salary issue. We will join back work immediately," Satish Chandra Mishra, an aircraft service engineer confirmed reporters here after a meeting with the chief executive of the company Sanjay Aggarwal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport's Terminal-3 (T3) here.
The strike was called off after a long negotiation from both the sides that
agreed the pending salaries of four months to be released out before the
year-end.
The airline is constantly trying to stay afloat and wanted to restart operations
following the everyday loss and company’s current financial statue since Oct 1
due to the strike that led to a lockout and thereafter the suspension of the
carrier's flying license by the aviation regulator, the Directorate General of
Civil Aviation (DGCA).
