Union Power Minister Veerappa Moily Tuesday informed to media that central government would probe into the alleged financial irregularities in BJP President's firm Purti Power and Sugar Ltd, after the reports of a leading English daily.

Responding to the report, published in Times of India, Power minister Moily informed to media that he has asked Secretary and Registrar of the Companies to probe the matter.

However, Moily denied to conduct any investigation in Congress Party's Robert Vadra's firms in which too the allegations of financial wrongdoings were revealed.

"There is no connection between Vadra and Gadkari," said Moily.

Earlier, Time of India on Tuesday reported that Gadkari's firm Purti Power and Sugar Ltd has several investments from shell companies.

According to a report published in ToI, investigations revealed that Gadkari's firm received significant investments and large loans by a construction firm, Ideal Road Builders (IRB) Group, which had won contracts between 1995 and 1999.

In the exchange, IRB was also awarded contracts between 1995 to 1999 when BJP chief was PWD minister in Maharashtra in the incumbent of BJP-Shiv Sena.

The company's records of 2010-11 show that Gadkari's driver, his 'diwan' (accountant) and two employees of Purti have been made the directors of his companies.

The investigations also revealed that most addresses in which these companies are registered are unverifiable, and that the firms are controlled by Gadkari's close aides.

However, Gadkari denied any wrongdoing and said that he is ready to face any enquiry.

Reacting to report, India Against Corruption member Arvind Kejriwal, who had alleged the BJP president got huge favours in land allotment from the Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra in return for "maintaining silence" on various scams, tweeted on Tuesday morning, "Read today's TOI for big expose against Nitin Gadkari. But would Congress and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar have courage to act against Gadkari? Or BJP-Congress bhai bhai?"
