Spokesperson CLP Mukesh Sharma has stated that chief minister Dikshit has succeeded in getting islanding facility for Delhi within shortest possible time, this will make Delhi more closer to become a world class city very soon.
Two MLAs of ruling party Congress Dr. Narender Nath and Mukesh Sharma submitted a petition in DERC describing the feelings of common electricity consumers over the new rates and new slabs implemented with effect from 1st July, 2012. Both MLAs have requested DERC to take an immediate action on their petition in order to provide relief to consumers.
Sharma further stated that failure of National grid would not affect power supply in Delhi as it paralyzed all critical activities during July 2012. Dikshit took keen interest in getting the scheme of islanding cleared from the Union Government.
Sharma also stated that the opposition BJP and some other elements are all out to befool people on electricity bills whereas they are not interested in presenting their pleas forcefully in DERC. They created ruckus and prevented the proceedings of public hearing which resulted in a decision to not organize any public hearing in the future by DERC.
The BJP and other elements are scared as their defeat in next assembly election is imminent. They are joining together to stage theatrics to derive political mileage out of their so called agitation against alleged high billing. In case, they were sincere and serious they would have submitted a written petition in DERC.
