Tribal Youth Programmes being arranged to counter Leftwing extremism

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) has been entrusted with the task of organizing the 5th Tribal youth Exchange Programme at four places in the Left Wing Extremism affected states.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned an amount of Rs.1.17 crore in favour of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) for organizing the programme. Over 2000 Tribal Youth drawn from 30 focused districts are expected to participate in the programmes.

This was disclosed by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to the media here on Wednesday. He also disclosed that around Rs. 76 crore was released to the LWE affected States of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal as the reimbursement of the expenditure incurred by them on anti-naxal operations in 2011-12 under the Security Related Expenditure Scheme.

Talking about the Naxal Management while presenting the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the month of September, Shinde further said that an amount of Rs. 2.70 crore was also released to the Indian Air Force as payment of airlift charges for anti-naxal operations in 2012-13. (ANI)
