Chicago, May 21 (ANI): Pakistan and Afghanistan has agreed in principle to extend the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement beyond Afghanistan to the countries in Central Asia.
It was decided during a meeting between Zardari and Karzai, who met on the sidelines of the 25th NATO summit being held in Chicago to discuss the peace and security situation and future development in Afghanistan, reports the Daily Times.
Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar said both the countries agreed that the modalities of extension of Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement to the Central Asian states will be worked out later.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Pakistan's Ambassador to United States Sherry Rehman, Secretary General Salman Farooqi, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and Babar were also present in the meeting. (ANI)
