Port of Spain, May 1 (IANS/CMC) West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons signalled his return to full fitness when he struck 127 to help Ceramic Merryboys gain first innings points over Wanderers in the eighth round of West Indies domestic championship last weekend.
Playing in his second game since returning from a finger injury, Simmons outscored the entire Wanderers' line-up, who were dismissed for 112 batting first.
Off-spinner Javed Ramdhanie was the man behind the dramatic collapse, grabbing six for 32.
In their reply, Merryboys got to 274 after Simmons and Jamaican Donovan Pagon (71) added 138 for the second wicket.
Spinner Anthony Adams followed his 10-wicket haul against Clarke Road last week with four for 61 while Omesh Ramoutar (4-87) also played a part.
Wanderers were six for one by the end of play, still trailing by 156.
Simmons fractured his finger in a Regional Four-Day match against Barbados in March and was forced to undergo surgery.
The right-hander has played eight Tests and 36 One-Day Internationals.
