Jhargram, Apr 30 (ANI): In a shocking incident, police personnel have recovered human skeletons from a forest area in the Jhargram region of West Bengal. Villagers blamed the Maoists for the atrocity.olice identified the skeletons as belonging to two locals, Tarun Singh and Haripada Dolai.
Interacting with media in Dumuria village, the wife of one of the victims' said her husband had been missing for over a year and it is suspected that the Maoists had killed him.
"My husband (Haripada Dulal) had been missing for over a year and a half now. The Maoists kidnapped him. He never worked for any political party, yet he was abducted by Maoists and later killed," claimed Anjali Dulal.
Anjali also said that her husband had never involved himself in any political activity nor was he with any faction.
Despite strong measures initiated by the central government to crush the ultras, the Maoist insurgency has gripped nearly a third of the country in its violent tentacles, spreading into the interiors of 20 of India's 28 states. (ANI)
