London, Apr 30 (ANI): Stella McCartney, who once called her dad Sir Paul McCartney a 'tight b------' for sending her to a local comprehensive instead of a private school where she could have avoided becoming the victim of bullies, now realizes that value of denying kids some of the benefits that a fortune can bring.
The 40-year-old fashion designer, who has two sons and two daughters by her husband, Alasdhair Willis, makes her point by quoting a recent Hollywood film in which George Clooney plays the heir to a fortune who refuses to allow his children to spend their inheritance.
"What was that line in The Descendants?" the Telegraph quoted McCartney as saying.
"You give your children enough money to do something, but not enough to do nothing.' My husband and I looked at each other during that film and we were, like, 'That is the ultimate.'"
"I don't know, maybe I'm overly paranoid that they're going to be spoiled, but I want to keep them going as kids for as long as I can. I want to keep them innocent and free," she added.
Sir McCartney would apparently be proud.
"I remember, on her 18th birthday, Stella wanted a car, so I said that I'd look at a second-hand one. I didn't want to spoil my kids, because if you give them money, you end up with spoilt brats running around," he said in 2003. (ANI)
