Washington, April 27 (ANI): A new analysis issued by Republican strategist Karl Rove has shown that President Barack Obama held a sizable lead in the electoral college race over likely Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
According to the first Karl Rove and Co. 2012 Electoral College map, there are 18 states (220 Electoral College votes) where Obama had a solid lead, The Politico reports.
The analysis showed that only 15 states (93 EC votes) polled solidly for Romney.
The analysis showed that there were six states with a combined 82 EC votes classified as 'toss-ups' (Iowa, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia).
Five states (Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania) with a combined 64 EC votes that "lean" towards Obama, while six states (Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas) with a combined 79 EC votes that 'lean' towards Romney.
It said that there were 17 states and a total of 225 Electoral College votes up for grabs.
"These projections will change as more polls are conducted in the coming weeks," Rove warns. (ANI)
