New Delhi, Apr 26 (ANI): United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Thursday to kick start his three day official visit to India from 26-29 April.
Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai received Moon at the airport.
Moon, who will be visiting Delhi and Mumbai, is accompanied by his wife, Ban Soon-taek and a high-level delegation.
During the Delhi leg of his visit, the Secretary General will be hosted by External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna.
He will also be meeting Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and will call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The Secretary General will also be conferred an honorary doctorate by Jamia Millia Islamia.
On April 28, the Secretary General will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. He is also scheduled to visit some UN development projects in Mumbai and participate in a Millennium Development Goals related event.
This is his third visit to India after becoming Secretary General in January 2007. (ANI)
