Bhubaneswar, April 19 (IANS) A heat wave has gripped several parts of Odisha with Titilagarh town in the district of Bolangir Thursday recording 43.5 degree temperature, the day's highest in the state, officials said.
The district headquarters town of Bolangir, about 330 kms from here, however recorded a maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius, the second highest of the day in the state, a senior official of the Bhubaneswar meteorological centre told IANS.
At least seven other places recorded a maximum temperature of more than 41 degrees. They include two industrial towns of Jharsuguda and Angul, he added.
