Lady Gaga 'rarely parts with a penny'

London, Apr 18 (ANI): Lady Gaga, who still lives in the one-bedroom flat she moved into in New York before she was famous, has revealed that she is the tightest star in showbiz.

The 26-year-old singer has amassed a 50-million-pound fortune but rarely parts with a penny.

Her spending is so low that her manager thought something was wrong with her finances and called her to ask "Did you lose your credit card?"

The 'Poker face' hitmaker invests heavily in professional items such as extravagant stage sets, outfits and her entourage of stylists and helpers, but she says she hardly spends any money on treats for herself.

"I didn't get into this business for the money so I don't spend a thing, but I am so happy," the Daily Star quoted her as saying during a US interview.

"I am not bankrupt. Actually I spend no money at all.

"It's really funny because my manager often calls me and is like: 'Did you lose your credit card? Did you cut it up? Did you lose it?' He is like: 'Why don't spend any money?' It's because I don't. I have not gone crazy," she saod.

Other showbiz figures with a reputation for being careful with money are Rod Stewart, 67, Mick Jagger, 68, and Susan Boyle, 51.

"I live in the same apartment as I did six years ago and the bedroom is about the size of a small radio studio with the kitchen about four feet away," she said.

The star, who is about to launch a world tour that hits Britain in September, spends hardly anything on food, either.

Gaga eats five tiny meals a day in a strict diet to get ready for her gruelling schedule.

"Just killed back-to-back spin classes," she tweeted last week.

"Eating salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat," she tweeted. (ANI)
