London, April 16 (IANS) A 55-year-old Briton -- who was a diabetes patient -- collapsed due to dehydration while playing Scrabble for 15 hours and attempting to break the world record.
Raymond Tate, from Glasgow, was all set for the highest-ever score in a 24-hour period when he fell over, the Daily Express reported.
Tate was attempting the challenge for charity. He was taken to hospital where he recovered.
He reportedly collapsed as he was fasting for the Jewish Passover festival.
Tate began the game at 10 a.m. April 14 in front of family, friends and live video internet stream, but collapsed around 1 a.m. April 15.
