New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) It was a busy day for the staff attending calls at the helpline for the municipal polls Sunday, the day when voters elected 272 councillors.
A total of six employees from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Delhi government handled over 500 calls as voters from across the city called up with queries.
According to officials here, the calls were mostly about residents' names not being present in the voters' list and queries related to booths.
The officials said that nearly 20 percent of the calls were to inquire if people had a right of not voting.
"We had three lines and six people attending the calls, the helpline proved highly popular," said an official at the Delhi election commission.
