London, Apr 14 (ANI): Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, who is suffering from terminal cancer, has been given an emergency blood transfusion following a sudden deterioration in his health, according to his brother.
Libyan Al Megrahi was taken from his home in Tripoli to the intensive care unit of a private hospital.
"His health began to deteriorate quickly and we were worried about him, so took him immediately to the hospital where he is receiving a blood transfusion," The Daily Mail quoted his brother Abdulkahim, as saying.
According to the paper, Al Megrahi's recent pictures have shown him looking increasingly ravaged by the cancer spreading through his body.
Megrahi was the only person convicted in 2001 of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 as it flew to New York from London.
All 259 people aboard the airliner died and 11 others in the town of Lockerbie were killed by falling wreckage. (ANI)
