Washington, Apr 14(ANI): The United States has no intention of stopping drone strikes on Pakistan's soil, officials have said.
An American newspaper quoted officials as saying that drones strikes will continue against militants and their hideouts in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the White House is considering issuing an official apology over the deadly November 26 airstrike that had killed 24 Pakistani soldiers.
The development comes after a joint sitting of the Pakistan Parliament approved the recommendations presented by the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) in connection with the terms of engagement with the US.
"The relationship with USA should be based on mutual respect for each other's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity," The News quoted PCNS chairman Raza Rabbani, as saying
He added the US footprint in Pakistan must be reviewed, and called for an immediate halting of drone attacks and infiltration into Pakistani territory on any pretext including hot-pursuit.
He said Pakistani territory including its airspace shall not be used for transportation of arms and ammunition to Afghanistan. (ANI)
